Windows: Delete Temporary Files

Temporary files are files that are only needed during a short period of time.

In many cases these files are not deleted after usage and still consume the space on the hard drive.

Luckily you can easily get rid of these temporary files by simply deleting them.

C:\Windows\Temp

Windows 7 Temporary files

Open the folder C:\Windows\Temp\ and delete the folder’s contents.

If there is a message that some files can not be deleted skip and ignore these files. They might be in use at that moment.

%temp%

Open the Windows Explorer and enter this in the adress field:

%temp%

Hit Enter. Your temp folder opens and you can also delete all the files in that folder.

If there is a message, that you can not delete certain files, skip and ignore them. They might be in use at that moment.
